In what has become a solid trend, another world class boxer has decided to give the cage a try.

Former WBO and IBA Super Bantamweight boxing champ Ana Julaton has signed to Asia’s OneFC promotion and will make her debut as a MMA fighter May 2 in Manila, Philippines.

Julaton (13-4-1) has been in Vegas for the past year training boxing, but had started to pick up MMA when she had time. She originally started in Bok-Fu, a striking martial art, when she was a kid. She turned to boxing years later.

Her last boxing bout saw her get a majority decision win over Perla Hernandez in Mexico. Julaton states she will do both boxing and MMA, expressing she wants to stay busy.

The Filipino-American has been a solid draw in the Philippines in boxing, and OneFC is hoping it will translate when she enters the cage.

No word on who her opponent will be on the card or at what weight Jualaton will be competing.

The card also featured India’s Jeet Toshi taking on Filipina fighter Jujeath Nagaowa on the undercard, which will stream for free on the OneFC website.
