The #1 Unified ranked atomweight in the world will be stepping onto American soil for the first time on October 6, as  Naho Sugiyama (8-0) will take on #2 ranked Jessica Penne (9-1) for InvictaFC’s initial 105 title in Kansas City for the promotions 3rd event.

Japan’s Sugiyama is the current JEWELS 106 pound champ and has yet to taste defeat. In May, she received a majority decision win over Yasuko Tamada. She has defeated the #3 and #4 ranked fighters in the division in the same night this past December.

Penne is coming off a win at InvictaFC 1 over Lisa Ellis is an exciting ground battle. Penne’s solo loss was to Bellator’s Zoila Gurgel at 115, but has been unstoppable at 105. She has five submissions to her credit.

The five round title  match is expected to be the co-main event; as Sara McMann will vie for the company’s first ever 135 title against a yet to be named opponent.

InvictaFC 3 will take place Oct. 6 at Kansas City’s Memorial Hall. The event is expected to be streamed or televised.
