About bfranek:

In May of 2010 I graduated from Penn State University where I was a member and captain of the Cross Country and Track Teams. My proudest moments in the sport/claims to fame are: qualifying for the World Championships in Berlin, Germany in 2009, winning the NCAA Steeplechase title in 2010, winning the triple crown conference team titles my senior year xc, indoor, and outdoor seasons (and being an individual winner at each of these meets), and attending 12 for 12 possible NCAA championships in my college career to be a 10-time All-American. I recently signed a contract with Nike and joined the Oregon Track Club. I absolutely love the fact that I have been given an opportunity to make a career out of a sport that I love so much! I consider myself blessed to have been surrounded by people that have cared so much about me and my dreams and I would not be in the position I am in without all of their help! My future goals are to one day become an Olympian and to leave a positive mark on the world through sports!

Remembering back to that feeling I had in Eugene during about the 4th week of training with the OTC where I woke up every morning and was in pain just laying on my back on the plush blankets of my warm bed before even getting up to start my day.  I co...more

Well, yesterday was a benchmark in my time here in Eugene.  I was officially "dropped" in the workout.  Since coming here, there have been repeats where the group I am training with gaps me a little but I have always been able to bounce back in the next...more

Even though it was short, Team Camp 2010 was a TON of fun.  Being new to the program, it was also extremely valuable to learn about the OTC’s resources and get to know my teammates better- I can’t imagine a better team bonding experience!   Becaus...more

So far training has been pretty much as I expected.  I am running more than I ever have in my life but I am also not doing anything else really.  Organized practices have been drills and conditioning- more than I have ever done on those too.  Conditi...more
