Matt Centrowitz and Brenda Martinez won today’s Fifth Avenue Mile races in Manhattan. Centro added to his already impressive list of accomplishments, becoming only the second man to win Wanamaker and Fifth Avenue Mile titles in the same year. Martinez capped off a strong late season.

On Friday, some very big news broke: the Track and Field Athletes Association, a fledgling union of sorts, is going international. And Usain Bolt is on board. The importance of his participation in this organization literally cannot be overstated.
The USOC is looking for federal financial guarantees for a possible 2024 Olympic bid. I can only assume this is because virtually all cities and states are broke, and otherwise a bid wouldn’t be feasible.
