Good evening, and what can I tell you?
Cross Country
The Bupa Great Edinburgh Cross Country, an IAAF Cross Country Permit meet, was held in Edinburgh on Saturday.
The combined score of the four-race challenge (junior and senior for men and women) saw the UK take first, USA in second and Europe in last.
The men’s 3k invitational race saw Asbel Kiprop win comfortably, while a clearly out-of-shape Kenenisa Bekele was well beaten in eleventh.

The Campaccio International Cross Country, an IAAF Permit Cross Country meet, was held on Friday in the Italian town of San Giorgio su Legnano. Winners were Edwin Soi and Mercy Cherono.
The Kenya Commercial Bank/Athletics Kenya Cross Country Series finale was held in Kisii on Saturday. Winners were Bedan Karoki and Emily Chebet; notable in fourth in the women’s race was Boston Marathon champ Caroline Kilel.

Indoor Track
The Russian indoor season kicked off in Yekaterinburg with the traditional Christmas Starts meet. Notable wins were by high jumper Aleksandr Shustov (2.30m) and hurdler Konstantin Shabanov (7.76).

Road Racing
The Xiamen International Marathon, an IAAF Gold Label Road Race, was run on Saturday in the Chinese city. Winners were Peter Kamais (2:07:37) and Ashu Kasim (2:23:09).

The Egmond Half Marathon was run on Sunday in the Dutch city. Winners were Dawit Wolde (1:00:46) and Meseret Hailu (1:11:18) in a big upset over Berlin Marathon champion Florence Kiplagat.
