Wombat sports is dedicated to women in combat sports. Former news editor of “Fightergirls” MarQ Piocos has been covering Women’s MMA for over three years, having picked up coverage of wrestling, boxing, and grappling. It is his vision to bring some of the best coverage to help bring and promote the ever expanding popularity of women’s MMA, wrestling, and martial arts with some of the best writers and athletes.

We reported last week that Gabrielle Holloway would be a part of of the CFA tournament this Saturday, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. It will be Erika Newsome who will be taking on Fallon Fox in the opening round, which will stream for $8 at UStream.com.
Newsome (0-1 pro) was undefeated in the amateur ranks with notable wins over Autumn Richardson and fellow CFA participant Ashlee Evans-Smith. She lost in her pro debut InvictaFC fighter Katalina Malungahu last July.
