Hey everyone! I just got back from spending a week in Miami for all of the Super Bowl festivities. A friend told me before hand that the Super Bowl events were better than those at NBA All-Star, but with basketball being my favorite sport, I was a little skeptical. Let me just tell you, he was so right. This last week was the most fun I’ve had in a looooonnnng time! The business conferences and summits were informative and yielded numerous promising contacts, my speaking engagement and morning show appearance went great, and the parties were high class and tons of fun!
The first half of the week was all about business. I spent Monday and Tuesday at the Locker to Locker Athlete Business Summit, where I made two contacts that will yield serious opportunities (so excited…keep y’all posted on that). On Wednesday, I spoke to close to 200 high school student-athletes at the Business of Sports Summit. We talked about the benefits of considering off-the-field careers in sports, and having an “after-plan” for when their sports careers are over (even if they do make it to the pros). They were smart, engaged, and eager to learn. It always amazes me how inspiring our youth can be when we give them some attention and emphasize the good things instead of the bad.
After a business meeting on Wednesday evening, my work was done and it was time for the parties—which is what I know you really want to hear about anyway. =) I was down there with my sister/BFF Kristin (see above pic), who is also the co-host of The Morning Show (5-9am show everyday on the CW). Since she’s a media personality, well connected, and gorgeous, we spent the entire week being catered to at exclusive parties. Honestly, I don’t even care if I ever get famous. As long as I’m making my own money, I’m perfectly ok having a famous sister. Lol. (Sooo proud of her).
The best night was Saturday, which involved VIP access to the fabulous supper club/night club MI-VI, a delicious steak, lobster, and shrimp dinner, a sick after party, and a bedtime to rival my younger partying days. I’m not gonna bore you with all the details (or tell on myself, lol), so here’s some pics from our week, including a couple from my appearance on The Morning Show as an Empowerment Coach. Enjoy =)
