TV Alert: Storm star Sue Bird goes for another basketball title
Bird attended the University of Connecticut. She suffered a knee injury during her first year with the team but came back her sophomore year to be part of the 2000 NCAA Championship winning team. During the 2001/2002 season she received the Wade Trophy and the Naismith Award as College Player of the Year. She is on the UConn record list several times including that for most scored points, most assists, and most steals. She was the first draft pick in the 2002 WNBA Draft by the Seattle Storm. During her rookie season she was picked to the All-WNBA First Team and WNBA Western Conference All-Star team. She is part of USA Baskeball and was part of the Olympic team that won gold in the 2004 Athens Olympics.
