Sacramone is an gymnast from the US. She started the sport at age 8 (1996) and was elite status by 2002. She was part of the 2008 Beijing Olympics team that took home the silver medal. She has been successful on the World Championship level, taking home three gold, four silver and two bronze medals. At the US Nationals competition, Sacramone has taking home five vault titles (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010) and two floor exercises titles (2005, 2006). In 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2010, Sacramone was awarded the USA Gymnastics' Sportswoman of the Year. Off the floor, in 2008, she and two of her teammates (Shawn Johnson and Nastia Liukin) became the first female athletes ever to be CoverGirl spokesmodels. After the Beijing Olympics, she decided to retire, only to come back to training in August of 2009. In 2010 she started competiting again. That year she was named part of the US National Championship Team once again. She went on to college, attending Brown University. There, she was an assistant coach to the Bears gymnastics team (2008).
