Paris is a professional basketball player in the WNBA. She started her basketball career early. As a high school player she was named National Player of the Year (2005) by USA Today and the Naismith Trophy Foundation. She was named to the second team All-American (2004) the Parade Magazine All-American first team (2005) and Parade Magazine second team All-American (2004) and first team All-American in 2005. At the 2005 McDonald's All-American Game she was named MVP. She went on to play center at Oklahoma University. During her freshman year she made history by scoring 700 points, having 500 rebounds, and blocking 100 shots during the season. She was the first player in NCAA history to achieve this feat. She set records in the Big 12 and Oklahoma for points (788), blocks (119), rebounds (539), rebound average (15.0). The A.P., USBWA, ESPN.com, and more named her first team All-American. As a sophomore she was named AP National Player of the Year. She set more OU records (averages of 23.5 points, 15.9 rebounds and 3.36 blocks) and set 10 NCAA records. She was anmed WBCA National Player of the Month three times during the season. No other athlete had done so before. For the second time she was named Big 12 Player of the Year. She was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year for third time. Closing her senior year she had ranked up her fourth Associated Press and USBWA All-American titles. She was drafted #7 to Sacramento in 2009. In 2010 she went to the Chicago Sky, however, only spent the preseason with the team before going to LA. She played with the Rivas Ecopolis during the offseason.
