Hemingway is an amateur boxer and college student. She started boxing in 2004. In 2009, Hemingway became the USA Boxing National Champion. In 2010, she took 2nd at the National Championships. In 2011, Hemingway recieved the bronze medal for her work at the National Championships. She competed in the first women's Olympic boxing Trials (2012).
